Deliberate Practice makes it stick

There’s a common misconception in motorsports that the main thing that matters when it comes to practice, is how many laps you’ve done and how well you’ve tested your equipment.

Baseline Driver Training wants to change this perspective and provide another way of practicing from which you as a racing driver can gain much more skill in a shorter amount of time.

The term deliberate practice revolves around focusing on quality and not quantity. We all know that motorsport is an expensive sport and we want to make the best of the time we have on the track.

While it is important to make sure your gear is working and your car is running well, there’s another aspect to performing well in races to come – and that is you.

With a program like Baseline Driver Training we eliminate all the outside factors that can serve as a disturbance and focus solely on your own skill level. The most efficient way of improving yourself as a racing driver and as an athlete is by doing deliberate practice. This means that you practice with high intensity for shorter periods of time and concentrate fully on the task and on what skill you want to improve in a given practice session.

You shouldn’t practice for more than 45 minutes at a time, but you will see that the little amount of time spent will make a big difference.
